I wonder the same thing a few months time to read about it and that's what he said.
Simply wash the pieces in soapy water, then boiling water over them - works just as well!
I have an Avent manual breast pump and all the bits and pieces fit well on my TT sterilizer. The new trend is not sterilized, but only warn soapy water and rinse thoroughly (with hot water as hot as you can keep your hands). This is the advice that was given by midwives in a class of first parent education anyway (my son who only 9 months old, so that) the information very often. Always sterilize my pump and bottles, because I'm a nice freak, and I could not help but rubber parts in the pump began to deteriorate a little. Milton disinfectant solution is a good backup if you want your pump to last and are not satisfied with just water and soap.
I live in a small town-ish, and the pump can come in a hurry was the hand pump, but I think he would have preferred a retrospective power ...
